I am Sri Vishnu Gopinathan, and currently pursing Master’s degree in Computer Science at University of Houston-Victoria. Enthusiastic professional with a comprehensive background spanning both Full Stack Development and Artificial Intelligence (AI). With a proven track record in both domains, I bring a unique blend of technical expertise and innovation to the table. My journey has been shaped by hands-on experience in building end-to-end web applications, coupled with a profound understanding of AI methodologies and technologies. My Experience
Full Stack Developer
I am an experienced Full Stack Developer with expertise in designing and implementing Microservices architecture using Spring Boot and Spring Integration for a web application tailored to create, read and update medical records. My proficiency extends to model layer development through Spring modules, including IOC, AOP, ORM, and Batch, with hands-on experience in Hibernate and JPA frameworks. I have successfully configured AWS EC2 instances, enhancing user experiences by designing new web features using Express JS and Node JS MVC frameworks. Additionally, I led the modernization of a legacy UI using Angular JS 2, CSS, Node JS, and AWS services. I excel in complex SQL query development, Java-based data access through Oracle Coherence, and web service creation and testing. My skills also encompass automation, version control, and project management tools such as JIRA and HP ALM, making me a valuable asset in agile environments.
My determination and enthusiasm for Data Science and AI have been instrumental in acquiring different opportunities. I have prior intern experience working as a Big Data Analyst at Navy Federal Credit Union in analyzing a large population set based on various metrics, finding co-relation, gathering insights, creating dashboards and visualizations using Power BI, streaming integration using Kafka and also performance optimization for Time-series models. Achieved practical experience and deep understanding in Azure Data Bricks, Data Lake, pySpark, Power BI and MySQL, facilitating the end-to-end journey from data extraction, cleansing, preprocessing, to analysis, feature importance and visualizations. I was actively involved in the integration of Kafka for data streaming, a pivotal enhancement that enabled real-time data processing and analysis. Additionally, my internship provided me with immense exposure to deep learning frameworks such as TensorFlow and PyTorch, enabling me to foster the performance optimization process of the Prophet model which was under development.
Big Data Analyst
Research Assistant
As a Research Assistant, I gained hands-on experience in developing Neural network models for Regression analysis to predict transfer student’s success rate, incorporating several features. Hyper-parameter tuning was implemented using Randomized Search CV and Grid Search CV techniques to find the model’s best configurations for optimal performance. I excel in data manipulation, ensuring seamless data cleaning and preprocessing by analyzing raw data of ‘yelp’ web user activities using python libraries. Moreover, acquired diverse knowledge in the field of AI by publishing papers on AI-based student counselling systems which was a part of my research experience.
My expertise in machine learning encompasses a comprehensive skill set vital for today’s dynamic landscape. I have completed courses focused on Natural Language Processing (NLP) and have excelled in crafting sentiment analysis models, language generators, and text classifiers, while my skill in model interpretability addresses the increasing importance of transparent AI decision-making. Furthermore, I am well-versed in ensemble methods, domain-specific insights, and deployment strategies, creating a holistic approach to solving complex challenges in machine learning.
